The Desert Eagle, or combat pistol in GTA IV, is the most powerful pistol in GTA and is only available in GTA San Andreas. The weapon can do a lot of damage, but it has only 7 rounds in its magazine and it can't reload as fast as other pistols.
You reach the 'gangster level' at 20% weapon skill, and 'hitman level' at 100%.
