The Mac, in the first PlayStation 2 version of GTA Vice City known as the Ingram Mac 10 is a fairly powerfull machine gun. The Mac-10 is slightly slower than the micro SMG, but you can fire the weapon while walking.
The Mac is based on the MAC-10 (Military Armament Corporation Model 10). The "Ingram" part in the first name, Ingram Mac 10, comes from the maker: Gordon Ingram. The weapon is, as stated above, renamed to simply 'Mac'. Most likely because it is a registered trademark.
