Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums

The "Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums", usually abbreviated to C.R.A.S.H., was a special police force in Los Angeles. It was founded to stop the criminal gang activities, as the violence caused by the gangs grew exponentially. C.R.A.S.H. agents were supposed to mix with the normal gang members, so they would gather information about current activities. At first this project seemed like a success, but after some time, when the project itself had become known for criminal activities, the program was ended.
Los Santos did also have it's own C.R.A.S.H. department, of which Frank Tenpenny, Eddie Pulaski and Ralph Pendelbury were long-time members. In 1992 Jimmy Hernandez joined them. His first "case" serving C.R.A.S.H. was to assassinate his colleague Pendelbury, showing that Los Santos' department will fail as well.
