From WikiGTA - The Complete Grand Theft Auto Walkthrough
|Grand Theft Auto
All fully automatic firearms, usually designed to fire rounds in quick succession, can be called machine guns. They can be divided in general categories, like submachine guns or assault rifles. The GTA's that feature a Third Person View have generally more than one machine gun, often a couple in each category, all with their own name. However, most of the classics only have one fully automatic firearm, simply referred to as the machine gun. GTA2 being the exception, having a normal and a suppressed machine gun called the S-Uzi machine gun and the silenced S-Uzi machine gun respectively.
The Third Person View Grand Theft Auto's contain the following automatic firearms:
- Assault SMG
- Gold SMG
- Ingram Mac 10 / Mac
- Micro SMG or Uzi 9mm / Uz-I [VC]
- Silenced MG
- SMG or MP5 / MP [VC]
- AK-47 — AK — Assault rifle
- M16 — Assault rifle
- M4 — Carbine rifle
- Ruger / Kruger
- The machine gun of GTA London is based on the British Sten.
- While the name 'assault rifle' is used in GTA Vice City Stories for the M16, Grand Theft Auto IV and GTA Chinatown Wars use the same name for a AK-47 like weapon.
