The rocket launcher, or RPG in GTA IV, is a weapon that fires rockets which will explode on impact. This makes it the ideal weapon to blow up a car, but it is also very effective against pedestrians. The rocket launcher has been available in every GTA to date.
In Grand Theft Auto and GTA: London, pedestrians standing close to the explosion will catch fire and burn to death. Exercise caution when you use this weapon, as it is possible to hurt yourself when your target is too close, or something gets in the way of your rocket. Hit pedestrians in GTA2 are launched into the air and are killed when they hit the ground. Since GTA III, pedestrians close to the explosion are thrown backwards by the shock wave. In the TPV GTA's, the weapon can only be fired in second-aim.
- In some GTA's, you can use the rocket launcher to see through walls. To do this, you have to position yourself sideways against a wall. Press second-aim and turn your face to the wall. The scope will move through the wall, allowing you to see what's behind it. This methods enables you to see Ghost Town in GTA III without having to fly there with the Dodo.
